When you open your eyes, this is what you're seeing as well. Since you miss the place very much, you can't stop yourself from touching the tree. However, as you do, the place changes. You're not in your world anymore. This gives you a whole new sensation. Something like someone's watching you and you have to do something for you to leave. You touch the tree once more hoping it'll return you to your world.
